The big place in theatre life of Moscow was occupied with public serf theatre of prince P.V.Urusova. In it concerts and dances were given ' decent to pleasure of public of amusement '. After happened fire Urusov has conceded the privilege to contain public theatre to Englishman Michael Egorovichu Medoksu. In 1780 Medoks has constructed in the street to Petrovka the new theatre named Petrovsky (nowadays on this place there is a Bolshoi theatre). This theatre had enormous auditorium with three circles of boxes and two galleries. It contained to 1500 spectators. At theatre Medoksa there were special places for regular customers, were called they as stools. The most part of stools was occupied with noblemen who had own theatres. These exclusive spectators transferred on scenes of the serf theatres much from this, that saw at Medoksa.
At Petrovsky theatre among other plays tragedy Nikoleva ' Sorena and Zamir ' (1785) has been put tiranoborcheskaja.
The Authorities did not favour similar repertoire. Medoks has been laid down in difficult material conditions and it was ruined. In 1789 the theatre has passed in conducting Tutorial council.
