In first half XVII century in Russia there was the so-called school theatre which was extended at spiritual schools. Originally school theatre served the purposes of the best tserkovno-theological formation of pupils. Each play put at this theatre, was close to the church sermon and aspired to show any theological position or a reasoning. It was told about the sinner who has not repented more often and got to a hell at wild triumph of devils, the history of the sinner which has realised malignancy of the offences was sometimes stated, was corrected and got to paradise. In plays the allegorical characters designating various virtues and defects, and also Time, True, Death, the World, etc. operated.
In Moscow in first half XVIII century two school theatres successfully worked: at Slavjano-Greek-Latin academy and at the Moscow Hospital - the first medical and medical educational institution in Russia. At theatre of the Moscow hospital medical students and the students invited from Slavjano-Greek-Latin academy, executed Feodor Zhurovskogo's plays ' Glory Russian ', ' Glory sad to the Russian people of death of Peter the Great... '. In the play ' Glory Russian ', written in connection with Peter I successful Persian campaign, Ekaterina's coronation, wives Peter I was represented.
