Throughout several centuries Moscow was the theatre life centre. Here liked to give the representations buffoons.

For the simple people in Moscow gave performances... Imperial grooms. The constant theatrical premise at them was not, played where it is necessary: hung out in a skylight a paper lantern, blew in the hunting horn is meant, that in the given house will play a comedy.

In 1702 actor Jacob Kunst has typed Russian pupils and has opened theatre in a German large village. Later these actors gave performances in special ' comedy hramine ' on the Red area. In 1740 somebody Vanka Kain represented on Maslennoj ' game ' about ' Tsar Solomone '. Its troupe consisted of 30 comedians.

At Peter I in Moscow some educational institutions, later, in 1755,-university have been opened. At these educational institutions there were at various times amateur theatres.

In a theatrical circle at university active participation was accepted by writers M.M.Heraskov and D.I.Fonvizin. Members of a circle gave performances in a premise removed by the entrepreneur - Italian Dzh. B.Lokatelli. These performances alternated with performances of the Italian troupe. In repertoire of a university circle there were M.M.Heraskova's plays, And. P.Sumarokov, ZH-B. Moliere, Z.Z.Russo, L.Golberga. In 1761 the part of actors of university troupe has been translated in the Petersburg theatre. After five years all theatre has passed to the private entrepreneur.
